Listen to Vertebrate Paleontology, Migrating Whales & The Cuttlefish Alliance45:4012 July 2020

Ben Francischelli, a Vertebrate Palaeontologist with a background in prehistoric ancient marine organisms of Australia's southern coastline. We’ll catch up with Ben to talk about life as a vertebrate paleontologist, the Lost World of Bayside project, and what you should do if you find a fossil.

Dave Donnelly (Killer Whales Australia/Dolphin Research Institute), about some exciting local visits by migrating whales during the week, and in particular southern right whales. We'll also talk about the feeding ecology of humpbacks, whale watchers behaving badly, and an update on the whale migration season.

Andrew Hunter, President of the Scuba Divers Federation of South Australia and spokesperson for The Cuttlefish Alliance. We’ll speak with Andrew about the magnificent giant cuttlefish of Whyalla, new threats resulting from the recent removal of a temporary fishing ban by the South Australian government, and interesting parallels with the annual migration of giant spider crabs here in Victoria.
