Listen to Rex Hunter, Dive Report. Shellfish Restoration Project and Jeff with Soundwaves50:0711 July 2021

This week, Bron and Kade brush off the dry suits …
• Rex tells us about the wreck of the small ketch Water Witch lost off Red Bluff in 1870, with the loss of two lives. Rex and his mates have been searching for this site since 2009 and he will talk about their quest to find it.
• We catch up with AJ Morton for a dive report, a check in on the spider crabs, and to talk about the news of the week - Flinders Pier
• Simon Branigan from the Nature Conservancy joins us for an update on the shellfish restoration project. Last time Simon joined us on Marinara, two shellfish reefs had been developed in Port Phillip Bay. Since then, the federal government has committed $20M to restore reefs throughout the country, and several more reefs have been built in Port Phillip Bay. How many reefs can be restored for $20M, and how many are now in the Bay? Tune in to find out!
• And Jeff Maynard continues on his quest to determine whether Soundwaves Seaquels will actually save the world. Actually Jeff says forget SEAquels. We’ve got the worst ever EAquel. Yes, the shark movie that copied another. Get ready for Jaws: the Delta variant.
