Listen to The Great Doughnut Fire of '23!49:3819 November 2023

The Great Queen Vic Market Doughnut Fire of 23' is nigh!!!

Cam Smith and Kent Goldsworthy catch up with Eva and Maria Konecsny, founders of the 'Gewurzhaus' franchise which began in Lygon Street, and now stretches beyond Melbourne to Sydney, Adelaide, and Canberra. Eva and Maria talk about their life changing time in Munich which inspired them to open their shop, and their new book 'Kindred' which is more than just a recipe book, but also a collection of traditions, rituals, and stories from their own family.

Self-proclaimed 'Mad Scientist' Roz Kaldor-Aroni chats with Cam about her healthy ice-cream brand, 'Elato'! She talks about her experience working in intellectual property law and how that helped her develop her own brand. Roz also reveals how she worked out how to create recipes using the least amount of sugar possible without compromising the taste, by using sweet ingredients (that aren't strictly sugar).

About this program

Food for thought: recipes, hints and tips, interviews and a market report.

It's one of those constants in this fair city; every Sunday at midday tune into the best radio station on earth for Eat It, Triple R's resident food show. No-one really knows quite how many years the show has been on-air, but it's been going long enough for us all to lose track. Each week Cam Smith and Matt Steadman take an hour to discuss every aspect of food and drink, including regular market reports, interviews with chefs and restaurateurs, chats with industry and lobby groups, emptying bottles with wine-makers and writers, answering listeners' questions, the occasional on-air cooking segment, and anything else we deem fit. Sometimes we'll even squeeze in a song or two.
