Listen to Eat It - 9 July 201748:499 July 2017

Today we briefly spoke about Matt's recent meal at Richmond's Minamishima; what an incredible Japanese experience! (but not cheap)

BBQ cuisine is interpreted in many ways around the world, and we spoke to Fancy Hank's Mike Patrick as well as FH alumni (and current saucier at Restaurant Andre in Singapore) Alicia Chongabout their upcoming pop-up Majestic Hawker. We spoke about the origins of BBQ cuisine, as well as some of Alicia's favourite street foods around Asia.

We finished today's show with a chat to the current chef at Australia's Casey Station in Antarctica, Andrew Donald. We spoke about the working environment, the challenges, and also the importance of the role of the chef in everyday life when working in such isolated conditions.

About this program

Food for thought: recipes, hints and tips, interviews and a market report.

It's one of those constants in this fair city; every Sunday at midday tune into the best radio station on earth for Eat It, Triple R's resident food show. No-one really knows quite how many years the show has been on-air, but it's been going long enough for us all to lose track. Each week Cam Smith and Matt Steadman take an hour to discuss every aspect of food and drink, including regular market reports, interviews with chefs and restaurateurs, chats with industry and lobby groups, emptying bottles with wine-makers and writers, answering listeners' questions, the occasional on-air cooking segment, and anything else we deem fit. Sometimes we'll even squeeze in a song or two.
