Radiotherapy: 'You Went to Emergency for What?' With Author Tim Booth
Tim Booth, a former journalist who now works as a paramedic, joins the Radiotherapy team to discuss his new book You Went to Emergency for What? The book delves into bizarre true stories from odd calls Booth has received working as a paradmedic. He chats about his decision to restudy after working as a journalist, how health care workers use dark humour to cope, and why he thinks people call 000 when there's no emergency.
"You can be going to someone who supposedly has chest pain and it turns out they've just got a sunburn on their chest... Your brain has to constantly pivot and there's this emotional whiplash which can be what can break you down in the end, but it's also what makes it really enjoyable."
