Eat It: Cam Hines on Seaweed, Sustainability, and Southern Seagreens

Cam Hines co-founded Mountain Goat Beer, but has departed brewery life for seaweed life. He joins Cam and Matt to talk about his new venture, Southern Seagreens, whose primary focus is to grow the most sustainable food they can. Having always been a self-described 'sustainability geek', Cam talks about his journey into sustainable food practices. He breaks down the process of taking seaweed samples with reproductive tissues that you can then propagate from, which releases millions of spores that are then caught in aquarium tanks that have enough temperature and light.

They try some homegrown seaweed in the studios, and also talk about how using wakame (an invasive species) helps keep native kelp populations alive.
