Author, artist, and filmmaker Shaun Tan joins Breakfasters to discuss Hometown, his new graphic novel exploring what it means to belong, and how even the strangest places can feel like home.

Shaun reflects on the mysterious image that inspired the book, and how imagining another world can make our own everyday lives seem extraordinary.

He also talks about resisting the urge to give readers a message, and the tension between artistic freedom and commercial success.

Hometown is out now.
