Goorie and Koori poet and writer Evelyn Araluen joins Breakfasters following her success at the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards, taking home The Victorian Prize for Literature and The Indigenous Writing Prize for her second poetry collection The Rot.
The Rot was described by judges as 'a work of remarkable poetic intelligence; formally bold, emotionally exacting and politically uncompromising'. Evelyn reflects on the inspiration, reason and creation of the book and her hopes for it to date.
