Former Essendon player Michael Long OAM joins the Breakfasters to talk about the 20th anniversary of The Long Walk, brought forth amid the Voice referendum and to support the Yes campaign. He reflects on the history of his first walk in 2004, why he's doing the walk again, and how we can support the cause to place issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people back on the national agenda.

The Long Walk is kicking off at 10:30am on Sunday 27 August 2023, outside Melbourne Town Hall. There will be a Welcome to Country, guest speakers, live music, followed by the first stage of The Long Walk (beginning at midday) through the CBD, and ending at the football and cricket ground Windy Hill in Essendon.
