Antoun Issa is a Lebanese-Australian journalist and the co-founder of online platform Deepcut News. He joins Mel on Literati Glitterati to discuss his new book Rebirth: A Love Story From the Depths of War, released in April.

Within Rebirth, Antoun tells his mothers coming of age story, of love, violence and tragedy at the onset of the Lebanese Civil War in Beirut in 1974, and her eventual migration to Australia.

Antoun tells of his discovery of his mothers story, discusses his own experiences in Beirut and shares the resilient history of his family.
