Indigenuity: Dane Simpson on Ten Years of Comedy
Wagga Wagga comedian Dane Simpson joins Krystal De Napoli to look back on ten years of stand-up, beginning with the night Kevin Kropinyeri pushed him onto a stage.
A decade later, Dane has gone from the Aboriginal Comedy Allstars, to stages around the country. Discussing how he found his comedic voice in the early pressure-cooker of gigs, Dane explains why his father remains such irresistible material.
There are stories from The Amazing Race, a cautious mention of Pauline Hanson, and plenty regarding the family who continue to populate his comedy.
Dane Simpson brings Always Was, Always Will Be… Funny to Portland Arts Centre on Thursday 10 September.
