Dylan Bird is joined by Associate Professor Erin Hoare, psychologist and former AFLW player, to chat about her research into the prevalence of neurodiverse athletes in elite sport, the developing understanding and accommodation of neurodiversity within and outside of sport, and the role of sport in shifting public discourse on social issues.

“We suspect that there’s a higher level of neurodivergence in athletes, given those unique demands … and what we know you’re required to have to succeed … The environment that can be fostered to enhance those strengths and those differences is something that we’re still seeking to explore.”
