Young people under 16 are set to lose access to a raft of social media platforms with a government mandated ban set to start on 10 December.

Dylan Bird is joined by Cam Wilson, Associate Editor at Crikey, to unpack the upcoming ban, why it has picked up international attention, the danger of young people migrating to alternative platforms, and the push for other reforms.

“So much oxygen has been taken up by this ban and making it work in practice … will we lose the political will to do other potentially more nuanced and targeted regulation that maybe has benefits for not just young people but for all people?”
