In 1997, the one and only Kiva album was released on CD. The bedroom project of Royce Doherty became a fully fledged pop duo for the rave era through a collaboration with Paul Mac. Cruel record label consolidation meant the follow up was shelved, effectively ending Kiva. Last year Gazebo Records reissued the mesmerising self titled Kiva album on wax for the first time. Royce tells the story of Kiva, from his musical explorations in repressive 80s Queensland, to constant motion between Melbourne and Sydney in the 90s for a viable career, and finally the recent revival of his magnum opus.
