Breakfasters: Deon Gilbert on the Critically Endangered Baw Baw Frog

Deon Gilbert is a threatened species biologist at Zoos Victoria whose current PhD research is on the conservation biology and recovery of the Baw Baw frog. With only a few hundred in the wild, he joins the Breakfasters crew for its weekly Feature Creatures segment to chat about the work being done to protect the critically endangered species. We hear a soundscape of the Baw Baw frog's calls, including one from Deon himself, who explains that the call-and-response is part of locating the rare species which is often burrowed underground in mud.
