Breaking and Entering: No Bad Memories with The Avalanches

Melbourne electronic royalty and sampling wizards The Avalanches are back with their highly anticipated new album, No Bad Memories. In a world where advertising, technology and memory intertwine, the new record features an impressive cast of collaborators including Karen O, Panda Bear, Jamie xx, John Glacier, Nikki Nair, Haruomi Hosono, Mike Patton, Suzanne Ciani and many more.

Formed in 1997, The Avalanches rewrote the rules of sample-driven music with their iconic debut Since I Left You, cementing their legacy as one of the most influential Australian acts of all time. Now operating as a trio, original members Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi are officially joined by longtime collaborator Andy Szekeres (Midnight Juggernauts) for this exciting new chapter.

All three members joined Lauren Taylor from Breaking and Entering in the studio recently to dive deep into the cerebral yet heartfelt universe of the new record, which explores how corporate advertising, old commercial jingles, and startup sounds wrap themselves around our childhood memories.

Among many things, they speak about transforming forgotten technologies, the importance of going on instinct and heart, and how the hell Haley Joel Osment ends up on an Avalanches record.

“As with all our records, No Bad Memories explores memory, our sense of self and what makes us” - Robbie Chater.

No Bad Memories is released on October 16th. The Avalanches play Live at The Gardens presented by Triple R on Friday 5th of March 2027.
