Breaking and Entering: Melbourne's "Gym For Synths" MESS Celebrates 10 Years

MESS (Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio) celebrates its 10th anniversary this year! Co-founders Byron Scullin and Robin Fox join Lauren in the studio to reflect on the creation of their "living museum". Located in Federation Square, MESS houses a significant collection of new and historic electronic instruments and preserves them for use by musicians from all over the world.

Byron Scullin and Robin Fox discuss inviting people into the world of electronic music to highlight some of the gems of MESS's collection. With tales such as Jarvis Cocker of Pulp messing about on a Polyphonic Roland System 100 earier in the year, they encourage everyone to get involved.

'These instruments become iconic because of what people make with them, and do with them.'

Attend a public tour, donate to, or join Melbourne's "Gym for Synths."

MESS is located in The Atrium, Federation Square.
