Radio Marinara
Listen to Radio Marinara – 6 July 202501:00:006 July 2025

Big show this week to kick off July!

Has Rex Hunter gone mad? Hear all about an obscure part of maritime history this Sunday when Rex heads off on a tangent to discuss the development and uses, by the ancient Romans, of hydraulic Roman concrete used to construct the Pantheon and early Mediterranean harbours. Seriously. Maritime Concrete.

Anth is back in studio with more reflections from the Ocean Science Congress in Nice - some marine science snippets he picked up along the way about everything from deep sea mining to nature based solutions on coasts.

Dr Allyson O'Brien, Vice-President of AMSA Vic and co-chair of the science committee from the upcoming AMSA conference in Melbourne joins us live in the studio to talk about a youth-oriented event running on one evening of the conference called Why Oceans Matter. An amazing panel of diverse people talk about why oceans are important hoping to light a spark in the next generation to look after them.

News and lots of other stuff
