I am joined in the pre-dawn hours by Anna Sanders, one half of Naarm duo ARC.
ARC is a Hauntological and liminal project, pulling from the heart strings of post-punk, industrial dub, dark wave, and the bionic swamp.
We discuss the release of their self titled EP and its alchemical employment of samples, vocal distortion, layering, and field recordings. Untangling, the magical and precise enmeshment of many elements and the world that has been built sonically and visually by ARC to encompass observations and ruminations on societal degredation. Finding regeneration through evolving on a history of boundary breaking artists in the vein of Brian Eno and Broadcast.
And as a special treat, Anna plays us out for the rest of the show with some tunes especially curated to excorsie your squirming minds into the sweetness of daylight!

About this program
Adorning the early hours of 4-6 am, Opium Audia explores thematic and contextual ties of the underground with a hauntological mix of 80s/90s house, electronic, jungle, post-punk, grunge rock, bossa samba and ambient avant pop. Sounds like a memory, feels like a dream. Maybe it was never real.
