Lowell "Sly" Dunbar passed away on the January 26 this year, four years after his musical partner Robbie Shakespeare. With Robbie, Sly built a rhythm section that shaped records across four decades, from Junior Murvin's Police and Thieves & Black Uhuru's Red, through to Grace Jones's Nightclubbing and Bob Dylan's Infidels.
On this broadcast of Live At RRR, we honour his life and work. Hear an archive recording from April 2003: "Sly" Dunbar live at the Prince of Wales, with vocalist Michael Rose. Hosted by Systa BB - of The Good, The Dub & The Global - who was DJ’ing on the night of the original show.
