- Literati Glitterati: Sara Haddad Adapts 'The Sunbird' For Young Readers
Sara Haddad tells fill-in host Kirby about the new young reader's edition of the novel The Sunbird, which tells the fictional story of Palestinian woman Nabila Yasmeen who was expelled with her family from their village in Palestine during the Nakba (meaning "catastrophe" in Arabic) in June of 1948 when Nabila was six years old.
In the second half of the show, Kirby is joined by local author Julianne Negri to talk about her debut YA novel The Belly of a Wolf. This interview discusses suicide.
