Listen to Einstein A Go-Go - 27 September 201545:4027 September 2015

Dr Shane and Dr Lauren speak with Julie Boyce (Research Associate - Volcanology and Geochemistry; Monash Volcanology Research Group - MONVOLC) and Jim Driscoll (School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment at Monash University) about the new Monash Earth Sciences Garden, an arrangement of nearly 500 rock specimens, weighing up to 14 tons, laid out to represent a pattern of rock outcrops.

They also chat to Australia's Chief Scientist, Professor Ian Chubb, about the opportunities to promote science in the political sphere, and Australia's scientific reputation and national science strategy.

The final guest, Dr Rodrigo Hamede (University of Tasmania School of Biological Sciences) describes his new research that has found that the Tasmanian Devil tumours have been changing and competing over the years to increase infection rates.
