Sad news came through last week that Australian writer, editor and publisher Hilary McPhee OAM passed away. Hilary was a founding director, with Diana Gribble, of the celebrated independent publishing house McPhee Gribble Publishers in the '70s. She was also Chair of the Australia Council for the Arts in the '90s and founding director of online political newsletter NewMatilda.com, amongst many other things.

Hilary was a guest on Mel Fulton's program Literati Glitterati just several months ago to discuss the 25th-anniversary edition of Other People’s Words, her memoir about the McPhee Gribble Publishing years. You can listen back to that fantastic conversation here.

RIP Hilary xx
