SIMONA CASTRICUM

To mark the release day of her fifth album Villian, prolific Naarm/Melbourne artist, producer, and DJ Simona Castricum will return to the Triple R Performance Space for a live set on Friday 4 September, hosted by Fee B-Squared of Maps.

A defining voice in Melbourne/Naarm's underground, Simona Castricum fuses post-punk and dream-pop with classic synth-wave sounds.

Co-produced with Sui Zhen and engineered by Screensaver's Jonnine Nokes,Villain is Castricum's most political and subversive work since 2020's Panic/Desire, mapping queer relationships across utopian and dystopian urban landscapes.

HUXTON CREEPERS

Much loved Melbourne '80s band Huxton Creepers return to Triple R for a special live set to help celebrate our 50th birthday, on Friday 11 September, hosted by Neil Rogers of The Australian Mood.

Following on from the 40th anniversary reissue of their landmark debut album 12 Days To Paris, Huxton Creepers have just released their first new music in over three and a half decades.

The new double single was written by original members Rob Craw, Matthew Eddy and Archie Law, with the addition of new guitarist and longtime friend Julian Matthews of the Stems. 'Opposites Attract'/'Midnight TV' picks up where the band left off, capturing and distilling the band's classic melodic guitar-pop into brand new recordings.

On the night, the band will perform songs from 12 Days to Paris, as well as all their other fan favourites.

JULIA JACKLIN

To help celebrate the last day of Triple R's Radiothon, esteemed local singer/songwriter Julia Jacklin will swing by the Triple R Performance Space for a live set at 6pm on Wednesday 16 September during The Distant Sky, hosted by Kate Kingsmill.

A week out from the release of her brand new album The Gem, Jacklin will treat Triple R subscribers to brand new songs from the album, as well as dipping into her revered back catalogue.

The Gem was produced by Jacklin and Robert Muinos at the Collingwood dive bar of the same name, making it Jacklin's first album recorded entirely in Melbourne, a place she's called home since 2017.

SEASON 2

Naarm/Melbourne DIY 5-piece Season 2 swing by the Triple R Performance Space to perform songs from their debut album Power of Now on Friday 18 September, hosted by Tyler Bain of Orange Juice.

Season 2 formed in late 2024, bringing together seasoned Melbourne musicians from bands including Parsnip, The Stroppies and Phil and the Tiles.

Released in early 2026, their debut album follows in the lineage of underground heroes The Feelies, The Vaselines and The Clean, combining melodic hooks with ramshackle guitar-pop, with a distinctive Melbourne sensibility.

MILES NAUTU

Fresh off the release of his brand new EP, Naarm/Melbourne rapper and producer Miles Nautu and his band will perform live in the Triple R Performance Space on Thursday 24 September, hosted by Emily Yarram of Pebbles.

On his latest EP the front, Nautu moves seamlessly from smooth neo-soul to hard-hitting jazz-rap, with his live backing band underpinning his verses with latin-infused rhythms.

Lyrically, Nautu examines insecurity, jealousy and grief with sharp self-examination all delivered through his laid-back, confident flow.

THE AVALANCHES (DJ)

To help celebrate Triple R's 50th birthday, Melbourne electronic royalty The Avalanches will perform an exclusive DJ set for subscribers in the Triple R Performance Space on Monday 7 September at 6pm, hosted by Lauren Taylor of Breaking and Entering.

In one of their only shows for the year, The Avalanches will preview songs from their forthcoming album No Bad Memories, out on Friday 16 October.

Since the release of their debut album Since I Left You, The Avalanches have helped lay the foundations for sample driven music in the 21st century. This will be a special chance to experience an intimate performance from one of the most influential Australian artists of all time.

This performance will not be broadcast. Only subscribers in the room will get to experience this super rare and exclusive set by The Avalanches.
