Over the weekend, the United States bombed three Iranian nuclear facilities, a major escalation in Israel’s war in the region. Donald Trump claimed that the strikes ‘obliterated Iran’s nuclear program’ although officials are still assessing the damage. While the USA has long provided military and political support to Israel, this marks a new phase in the conflict.
