The Mission: The Importance of First Nations Media with Wally Tallis

Guest host Uncle Charles Pakana speaks with Wally Tallis about the role and importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led media. Wally is of Torres Strait Islander and South Sea Island descent with family connections to the Birri Gubba peoples of what's known today as North Queensland, and is CEO of First Nations Media Australia, the national peak body for First Nations not-for-profit broadcasting, media and communications.

In a wide-ranging and fascinating interview, Charles and Wally speak about a range of First Nations issues, and particularly the impact of misinformation and controlling the narrative during the 2023 referendum.
