Guest host Beth AQ chats about the new anthology Someone Like Me with co-editor Dr Clem Bastow, and contributor Fiona Wright. Someone Like Me is a collection of non-fiction, memoirs, and graphic storytelling by 25 autistic women and gender diverse writers.
They talk about showcasing autistic writing styles, the choice to include stories both explicitly and more subtly about autism, masking, and the connection between autism and eating disorders.
“Autistic communication is unique, and the deficits, so called, in our communication are not our problem,” Dr Clem Bastow said.
