Neon Sunset: Station Model Violence for Anaemic Times
DX and Buz Clatworthy of Station Model Violence join Annaliese on Neon Sunset to explore their self-titled debut, recently released on local label Anti Fade. The six-piece brings together DX of Total Control and UV Race, Buz and Alan Gojak from R.M.F.C, Micky Grossman and Michael Hassett from Den, and saxophonist Nick Kuceli.
DX and Buz talk through the conflict at the centre of the record: negativity, creativity, and music in anaemic times. There’s tension, contradiction, and humour in the exchange; from ideas of hatred’s destructive force, to whether that same energy can spark something potent within a track.
They reflect on the album’s physical charge, circling back to music that moves people; as something to dance to, to loosen the body and shake the spirit.
Station Model Violence is out now via Anti Fade.
