Irish author Roisin O'Donnell joins Mel in the studio to chat about her debut novel, Nesting. The book delves into the experience of a pregnant woman leaving an abusing relationship with two young children to care for.
O'Donnell talks about the societal, emotional, and financial barriers to identifying and leaving a coercive control situation, and her process taking the experiences of real women to enhance the realism of the story.
“Getting these stories out there and telling these stories, so that people can recognise the types of patterns that you see in these relationships, and just how damaging it is.”
