Get Down: Parliament-Funkadelic's Thurtdelic Unpacks The Funk

Chris is joined by singer Thurtdelic of the American music collective Parliament-Funkadelic as they discuss all things funk and the new era of P-Funk. The pair recount Thurtdelic’s official induction to the band and his latest record Psychedelic Therapy.

Since joining forces in the ‘60s to form Parliament-Funkadelic, funk bands Parliament and Funkadelic have been pioneers of the genre, led by innovator and founder George Clinton. Now, Parliament-Funkadelic enters their third generation, 3GP, as they carry on the legacy of funk.

“The funk is everything. The funk is the DNA of all the music you hear today, all the modern music that came from jazz itself it’s just an evolution.”
