“The bigger question for us as Australians is: who do we want to do these jobs? Who do we want to staff aged care facilities in regional and rural Australia? Who is going to slaughter and cut up our meat? Who is going to pick the fruit? … It’s easy to say migration is too high, it’s harder to say where we should slow it down or what kind of migration is desirable and what kind isn’t.”
