Feel The Floor: Logic1000's Process of Sonic Actualisation on her Sophomore Album: Confirmation!
Logic1000 has steadily established herself by expressing vulnerability through her music, broadening this to confront themes of self-belief and acceptance on her sophomore album, Confirmation!. Originally from Sydney, Samanatha Poulter/Logic1000, who is now based in London is a producer, DJ and curator and is recognsied as one of electronic music's most distinctive voices.
Where Logic1000's debut album Mother (2024) was a love letter to house music, Confirmation! is all about embracing every version of herself - the child she once was, the woman she has become, and the mother she is today. In her chat with Ethan, they discuss the evolution of her sound from her debut until now, which includes an expansive DJ-Kicks mix, contributing to her ever-widening world. The title draws on the Catholic sacrament of confirmation - a deeply personal symbol, not only of faith, but of affirmation and self-trust: "I've realised that being 'confirmed' isn't about arriving at a final version of yourself. It's about feeling aligned with who you are today, while knowing you'll continue to grow. It's about having faith in yourself".
With her productions balancing emotional intimacy and undeniable dancefloor instinct, Poulter has hosted a four-night residency at London's Phonox, performed at Glastonbury, Coachella and Primavera, and whipped up remixes for artists like Dua Lipa, Shygirl and Don Toliver. She also dives into writing on her Substack and hosting a podcast alongside Heléna Star, titled THERAPY. Listen back to the interview and hear directly from Logic1000 about the process behind the album and the balance struck in delivering new music.
Confirmation! releases on Friday October 2 via Because Music.
