Banksia: Tony Briggs on Typecast's Inspirit Lab and First Nations film
Yorta Yorta / Wurundjeri (Woiwurrung) man, theatre and film practitioner (Actor, Writer, Director and Producer), Typecast Company Director and Artistic Director of the Birraranga bi-annual film festival, Tony Briggs joined Vanessa Morris to talk about the Typecast Inspirit Lab initiative.
Recently announcing participants, the inaugral Inspirit Lab will deliver a program of masterclasses and hands-on experiences to learn the various stages involved in adapting a short story from Tony Birch's The Promise book for screen, over a six month period.
Tony also spoke about First Nations film and the Birraranga bi-annual film festival, and a project currently underway which will see him produce an adaptation of Tony Birch's book The White Girl.
Typecast is a collaborative film, television and events production house aiming to connect audiences with diverse stories and nurturing leadership and providing visibility of First Nations filmmakers while facilitating opportunities to forge new international relationships between screen practitioners.
