Sherene Stewart and J-Maine Beezley of YIRRAMBOI join Vanessa Morris on Banksia to update us on commissions announced for the 2025 festival and Barring Yanabul.
New commissions will be developed and premiere at the 2025 festival across many mediums from First Nations artists Stacie Piper, Apryl Day, Jirra Lulla Harvey, John Harding, Alexis West, Naretha Williams and Caleb Thaiday.
They also spoke about Barring Yanabul, a city-wide takeover of a number of public spaces across Naarm during YIRRAMBOI that presents First Nations artists working across dance, circus, drag, music, spoken word and experimental forms.
