Wiradjuri Filipino artist Mo’Ju joined Vanessa Morris on Banksia to talk about live album release Mo’Ju with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Mo'Ju shared reflections about the importance of this performance and record, as First Nations contemporary artists are not usually within these spaces – as well as Native Tongue since its release seven years ago.

Capturing the 2023 Hamer Hall performance with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, it presents orchestral reinterpretations of their works, from the searing honesty of Native Tongue to selections from Oro, Plata, Mata. It demonstrated the depth, adaptability and emotional resonance of Mo’Ju’s songwriting.
