Banksia: Jen Cloher on New Podcast Season and Learning Te Reo Māori in Aotearoa

Songwriter and performer Jen Cloher joined Vanessa Morris on Banksia to talk about season two of podcast Everybody's Trying To Find Their Way Home and relocating to Aotearoa to learn Te Reo Māori.

Everybody's Trying To Find Their Way Home documents the experiences of Māori and First Nations musicians who are writing and performing in their languages. Through the formation of the podcast, Jen visits the artists at home, where the environments naturally form part of each episode.

Season two features interviews with Shellie Morris, Whirimako Black, Jordyn with a Why and Byllie-Jean; season one guests included Emma Donovan, Dr Lou Bennett, Te Kaahu, Anna Coddington and Breanne Peters.

Jen spoke also spoke about the experience of relocating to Aotearoa where they enrolled into a year long Te Reo Māori rumaki (immersive) language course and finding community in Aotearoa.
