FAMILI collective members Sione Teumohenga (Lonelyspeck) and Bella Waru (Waru) join Vanessa Morris on Banksia to talk about recent short film release Bloodfire – written and directed by both Sione and Bella.

Sione and Bella also spoke about single releases Firekeeper and Our Blood which create part of EP Bloodfire, as the first iteration of FAMILI releases – as well as collaboration within and formation of the dynamic collective which began taking shape eight years ago and now has ten active members.

FAMILI is woven from Oceania’s past, present and future. What began as a calling to connect artists at the intersections of Pasifika, Blak, queer and trans experiences has bloomed into a years-long intercultural musical collaboration.
