Noongar photographer Cole Baxter joins Vanessa Morris on Banksia to talk about exhibition Aftercare Not Included at Goolugatup on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar – as well as his photography practice.

Bringing protest, identity and legacy into new light, Aftercare Not Included presents Blak power at the forefront. The title responds to tokenstic actions of politicians and governments followed by a lack of aftercare for First Nations people and communities.

Known for capturing powerful images, especially of community at rallies and events, Cole spoke about exploring new mediums through the exhibition including sculpture, mixed media and sound, and ways he built on existing photography works.

Aftercare Not Included is at Goolugatup in Boorloo on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar until 13 July
