Associate Professor Melissa Wooten - The Rap

Ahead of giving a public lecture at the University of Melbourne about public pathways into black educational philanthropy, US scholar and author Melissa Wooten joined Areej to discuss some of the positive outcomes and barriers to funding experienced by exclusively black schools and universities in the United States. Melissa delves into the systematic racial segregation that has characterised educational institutions in the US for generations, and brings into focus the existing inequalities that continue to plague contemporary America.
