V- So Pure (Dero Arcade)**Album of the Week

Over her techno-infused, darkwave, industrial electronica, V looks at the power and endurance of human connections.

Shana Cleveland – Night of the Worm Moon (Hardly Art)

The frontwoman of surf-rockers La Luz steps out on her own with a serene album inspired in part by Afro-futurist Sun Ra, blending pastoral folk with cosmic concerns.

Lowly - Hifalutin (Bella Union)

The second release from Denmark collective finds them expanding and varying their sound without losing their capacity for widescreen dream-pop beauty.

Squaring Circles - Motion (Best & Fairest)

The experimental Melbourne project release their debut 8-track, an atmospheric and mesmerising collection of complex textures and layered percussion.

DJ Yoda – Home Cooking (Lewis Recordings)

Home Cooking sparks a new sonic direction for the British turntablist, bringing together a team of collaborators and moving further into the sounds of jazz and soul.

The Budos Band - V (Daptone Recording Company)

The first release in 5 years for the Staten Island instrumental 9 piece is as menacing and unhinged as ever, expanding on the Ethiopian inspired rhythms and fuzz-fueled riffs which put them on the map.

Fontaines D.C. - Dogrel (Partisan Records)

The snarling debut from the dublin punk-rockers has heralded big claims as punk's next big thing, but with more texture, colour and nuance than might be expected from such praise.

Bibio - Ribbons (Warp Records/Inertia)

The British producer releases his 10th studio album with Ribbons, a record inspired by reconnecting with the British country and realising the danger and sadness of the destruction of nature.

Bella Boo - 'Supervillain' EP (Studio Barnhus)

The product of Swedish club culture releases her sophomore EP, exhibiting her stunning production skills and flair for locking together dreamy ambience with dance-floor grooves.

Batts - The Grand Tour (Independent)

Prior to a supporting tour of Sharon Van Etton, the Melbourne artist Tanya Batt releases a concept album focused on Voyager 1 from NASA's 1977 'Twin Voyager' mission, including live samples captured by the Voyager itself.
