A conversation with filmmaker Alec Morgan, whose new film Ablaze, made with co-writer/director Tiriki Onus, tells the story of the latter’s grandfather, Yorta Yorta and Wiradjuri man William ‘Bill’ Onus. A truly heroic cultural and political figure, Onus was the first indigenous filmmaker and a central force behind a civil rights movement that changed the course of history.
