Two People are Phoebe Lou and Joey Clough, and First Body is an introduction to their shared sonic world of hazy synths, crackling beats, smokey ambience, stillness and space. The project began over a decade ago, before the success of high school band Snakadaktal put early experiments on hold. So there's patience in the slowly unfolding tracks of First Body, as well as a mastery of mood that comes with years of honing their craft. Moments of nocturnal foreboding are balanced with a melodic lightness that lifts the tension. For this debut album Two People worked with Rodaidh McDonald, a producer and engineer also known for contributions to records from King Krule, Sampha and The xx.
