Slippers 08 is the second album from LA indie pop band Slippers, out now on K Records. 

Fronted by Madeline Babuka Black (Yucky Duster, Beverly, Gobbinjr), Slippers 08 brilliantly mines the lineage of indie and power pop, drawing equally from C86 jangle pop and 60s bubblegum pop, delivered through the lens of contemporary Los Angeles. 

The album sharply captures the complexity of modern life, with Madeline BB's wistful pop hooks perfectly complemented by the urgency of her musical arrangements, deploying dissonance and tension to great effect.

The arrival of the record on influential DIY label K Records cements somewhat of a renaissance period for the label, with Slippers, along with label-mates Sharp Pins, NOW and Touch Girl Apple Blossom, carrying the torch for a new era of American DIY indie rock.
