Fancy Weapon is the self-titled debut album from a new project made up of scene stalwarts Mick Turner (Dirty Three/Mess Esque), Joel Silbersher (GOD/Hoss), Claire Birchall (Smoked Salmon) and Guy Maddison (Mudhoney/Lubricated Goat), out now on Poison City Records. 

The album was recorded in a single session at Head Gap Studios in Preston in late 2024, before the band had even played in public and a week before the studio tragically burned to the ground. Fortunately, the sessions were saved, and the band were able to continue mixing and finishing the record at an alternative studio.

The final result builds on the legacy of the band's members, refusing to rest on the laurels of their other projects. The band's chemistry resonates from the first song, with the album's exploratory, ragged art rock providing the perfect foundation for Claire Birchall and Joel Silbesher's complimentary shared vocals.
