The Four Scoops are a combination of four unique working musicians from differing musical heritages bound by a love of back-beat groove.
The groups musical heritage harks back to a time of melting musical styles as Jazz met early Rock n Roll. Their repertoire is wide and varied from Blues shouters Winonie Harris to Jazz back beat legend Louis Jordan to Fifties crooners to Bolero versions of Cold Chisel and Dragon hits. The Four Scoops love of variety in tunes and grooves has its basis in the diversity of the members.
Melbourne indie rock outfit Sleep Box Hotel return to Fitzroy to celebrate the release of their second single “Now or Never” with a special night at Bar Open.
Born during an early backyard jam in the band’s first few months together, “Now or Never” came together quickly. Built around a groove the band immediately locked into and something to do with the Astor Theatre inspired reflective lyrics about love, nostalgia and the mistakes we carry with us.
Sleep Box Hotel continue to build momentum following the release of their debut single “Melanie Lane.”
Joining the night are fellow Melbourne acts Slow Exposure and Signal Chain, rounding out a stacked lineup of local indie talent.
Doors 8.30pm.
