MARTIANS OF ERROR - 'SUNSHOWERS'
SINGLE LAUNCH

FREE ENTRY

Your erstwhile indie rock friends Martians of Error are returning to the Mamma Chen’s stage in August, to celebrate the streaming release of their frantic debut single ‘Sunshowers’.

Expect a raucous afternoon of live and local music, with support from some of Footscray’s finest songwriters – including The Phosphenes, Kingpin Brine, and other special guests from the WestSong crowd…

Meanwhile, you can listen to ‘Sunshowers’ – and the debut album by Martians of Error, ANY TIME NOW – on all streaming platforms and devices.

ARTIST BIOs

After a relaxing and productive hiatus from live shows, Martians of Error are back online – with a rad new bassist, some new music releases, and several new hills to die on.
Their debut album ANY TIME NOW (recorded over 2024-25 at Northcote’s Sound Park Studios) showcases the band’s anthemic and eclectic approach to indie songwriting, sharpened by years of gig work and banter in the live local music scenes of Naarm.
Martians of Error songs can be ‘smart guy songs about dumb themes’, ‘dumb guy songs about smart themes’, or love songs, depending on the context. Perfect listening for humans who enjoy the Pixies, Crowded House, R.E.M., Jason Isbell and/or MJ Lenderman.

The Phosphenes create imperfect three-minute pop songs from a standard dysfunctional rock line-up (with added harmonica for your convenience) that – replete with catchy hooks and upbeat rhythms, armed with poignant and quirky humour, and dripping in vocal harmonies – stick in your head and rewire your brain.

Kingpin Brine is a raw, energetic blend of folk storytelling and tasty grit. Kingpin’s music is a wild ride through tales, swinging from high-octane riffs to soft, melancholy melodies that hit you right in the feels. Whether he’s beating on that guitar or whispering a somber ballad, Kingpin Brine’s tunes are always packed with heart with a playful edge. Get ready to be captivated by a unique sound that’s a little sweet and fun and a little sad and dark.
