They don’t rush it. They never have. Thee Sacred Souls make soul music that takes its time – satin-smooth, slow-burning and just a little bit lovesick. The kind that feels like it’s always been playing somewhere in the background of your life, you just hadn’t found it yet.

Formed in San Diego by Sal Samano, Alex Garcia and Josh Lane, the trio came together in 2019 and locked into something easy, instinctive. With a shared love for the sweet sway of ’60s soul and the deeper pocket of ’70s R&B, the band slipped into their own sound that mixes Chicano lowrider culture with American soul roots.

Their sophomore record Got a Story to Tell (2024) reached critical acclaim and multi-million streaming success. Alex Garcia keeps things soft at the edges, all pillowy pulses and steady sway. Sal Samano slips between it with bass lines that curl and stretch. And then there’s Josh Lane's weightless vocals floating above it all. It’s all heart, no hurry.
