The Mission: Treaty Legislation Tabled in Victorian Parliament

Guest host Uncle Charles Pakana talks with Gunditjmara man and Co-Chair of the First People's Assembly of Victoria Reuben Berg about the treaty legislation currently moving through Victorian Parliament.

They discuss how the role and powers of the First People's Assembly will change, the process of treaty negotiations, Assembly elections, and plans to incorporate truth telling about Australia's history into school curriculums.

"We haven't tried to bite off more than we can chew at this first stage... we see this as just the first statewide treaty and that's enabled us to achieve what we have."
