How did Australian media outlets cover the Voice Referendum? Did they get a good scorecard for their coverage, or do mainstream media organisations need to re-think how they cover politics when lies and untruths run rampant in public debate.

That's the question that Dr Denis Muller, from the Centre of Advancing Journalism set out to answer in his latest piece for The Conversation.

He joined Charlie Lewis and guest host Rachel Withers for a chat about it all.

“The media need to take stock and say – what can we do about this? We can no longer make this assumption that we’re operating on facts that are true so we need to be on our toes to make sure we are not amplifying the lies and treating them as if they’re true and only discovering later that they’re not.”
