Queer View Mirror: Wise Words Across Queers Generations

Queer View Mirror welcomes Jax Bulstrode (she/they) and Rachel Cook (she/her) into the studio with host Sam Elkin to discuss Wise Words, a night of intergenerational storytelling by LGBTIQ+ women, trans, and non-binary voices.

Now in its fifth year, Wise Words was created by Rachel Cook to bring queer generations into conversation - inspired by her research into queer history and a desire to bridge gaps between lived experiences. Jax Bulstrode, author of Cul-de-sac Rabbits, represents a younger generation, sharing how stepping into spoken word has shaped their writing and how the event offers rare space to listen, reflect, and trace connections across time.

The lineup spans decades and cultures, from Kate Rowe - who marched in the first Mardi Gras in 1978 and was arrested that night - to emerging writers and performers including Cherry Zheng, Candy Bowers, Mira Robertson, Mutton, and MC Candy Bowers.
